Archaeological Museum Split
The Split Archaeological Museum is the oldest museum in Croatia, founded in 1820 by decree of the Dalmatian government in Zadar. Its collections encompass artifacts from prehistoric times through to the early Middle Ages and the period of Croatian rulers. Highlights include stone inscriptions from Salona, as well as collections of Graeco-Hellenistic ceramics, Roman glass, lamps, bone and metal objects, gems, and coins.
