Biranj
Biranj is a layered archaeological site located on an elevated ridge above Kaštela. The site features a prehistoric fortified settlement, a late Roman castrum, a sanctuary dedicated to the Slavic god Perun, and a Romanesque church of St. John. The prehistoric fortress’s outer walls are almost 800 meters long, enclosing an area of approximately 73,000 m², making it one of the largest fortified settlements on the eastern Adriatic coast.
